Kung Fu Styles: A Focus on Internal Strength

Kung fu is an ancient Chinese martial art informed by Taoist principles of Yin and Yang. Tai Chi is perhaps the most well-known style of kung fu. As an internal martial art, it emphasizes channeling qi (internal energy) rather than relying solely on muscular strength. This makes it suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

One prominent style originates from the Wudang Mountains in Hubei Province, China. Traditionally, this style is passed down from master to student. Lu Shifu, who trained in the Wudang Mountains, emphasizes mastering basic skills before progressing to more advanced techniques.

At Wudang Martial Arts, we offer instruction in Tai Chi, Qi Gong, various kung fu styles, Wudang sword, and long weapons like the monk spade and pudao. Our curriculum prioritizes building a strong foundation and developing internal strength.
